ECF Produce the first UK built perfector 180

Exotic material specialists ECF Special Alloys have participated in a manufacturing UK first.

Working alongside SPX Gerstenberg Schroder, ECF have manufactured the first ever perfector 180 heat exchanger to be made in the UK.

ECF fabricated the perfector, which is most commonly used for the manufacture of butter, from low temperature carbon steel, cladding the vessel in 304L stainless steel.

Peter Elliott, Director of ECF said: “It was a great project to work on and with it been the first one ever made in the UK it was quite an achievement.

“We managed to get the project completed and shipped back to Denmark in front of our deadline.”

Internationally recognised Gerstenberg Schroder (GS) is part of the flow technology segment of fortune 500 company SPX.

GS are a leading manufacturer of food processing equipment, who specialise in scraped surface heat exchanger technology.

Their machines, including the one ECF fabricated are sold across every continent, in more than 120 countries.
